that would be little miss meany pants these days. i have to say she makes jack look like an absolute angel at this age. there has been yelling, hitting, grabbing, and biting *gasp* and jack has probably been the recipient of it all, although i think mike would argue that he has been on the receiving end of a couple of face slaps-yikes!? i am much more calm about this lovely behavior this time around than i would have been with jack. partially because i know that if i remain consistent with the reaction (there is a no tolerance policy for hand use-automatic time-out), then i know she will eventually outgrow this. now if i could just get her to do it more quickly, i think we would all be relieved.
ironically, the aforementioned behavior doesn't get to me nearly as much as her deliberate refusal to listen to me when asked. for example, daley please pick (toy) up or come here to get dressed as we are running late (as usual). she will actually play dead on the floor and bury her face or run the other way. ahhhhhhhhh...i'm frustrated just writing this-lol!?
then there is the sweet, today for instance, she and a little girl lucy had a blast together at ballet; holding hands, dancing, catching bubbles. it was so cute to watch them interact and converse with each other. now if we could just see more of this side our world would be a calmer, happier place!

la, la, la, la...
daley is a singing fool these days! she sings just about everything...right now she is really into singing adele, passion pit & the black keys. um, she is one cool two year old if you ask me! the funny thing is that she gives certain songs their own names based on a line or two from said song, so it is always a fun game trying to figure out just what song she is actually talking about whilst she yells her demands from the backseat. i think it might be time for someone to get their own ipod!
here is a video showing you the vocal stylings of miss daley;)

coming into her own...
daley is certainly becoming a little person these days. i think i notice it most in her ballet and swim class. she no longer insists i hold her for the duration of class. now she gets out there and follows along with the teacher doing her sashays, twirls and stretches. it is amazing how far she has come. i can also see her interaction with the other girls in her class has changed. she now runs along and mimics them (most of the girls are 3). i wasn't sure we would stick with these classes for a while because she was so clingy, but now she asks if it is thursday (ballet day) nearly everyday!
on another note, she and jack are playing together so nicely these days. they make up these funny games and sing/dance together. it really is so fun to watch them. i often sneak in to hear/see what they are doing so as not to ruin the moment!
here's a fun little pic i had to use for my class this week...she looks so serious, it reminds me of when she was an infant and use to give just about everyone this furrowed stare!
