hurricane who?

truthfully, daley is more of a threat these days than irene proved to be! she is quite a determined, stubborn child and the fact that her vocabulary is so good, only makes negotiating with her that much harder. she has one of the most distinguished jekyl and hyde complexes i have ever seen-sweet as pie one minute, and literally possessed by the devil the next! i think if she were my first i would be much more wary than i am, but i'm still holding out hope that this is all just a phase. call me naive, but its all i've got left keeping me afloat-lol.

first boat ride!

while we were up in lake george, daley got to take her first boat ride. of course she showed no hesitation and wanted to get right on the boat. she kept asking to drive it and refused to be held, wanting to walk around the boat! she is so independent and headstrong, both a blessing and a curse!?

she loved annie and had so much fun!

"horsies"...neigh, neigh...

that is what daley calls them. actually she adds an "ie" to everything these days; jackie, soupie, milky, snackie, greggy. i'm sure there are more! she's really enamored with animals, and had so much fun at the farm. she pet the horses without even flinching. when the horse whinnied i think it caught her off-guard a bit, but she was otherwise excited. she also fancied the barn cat quite a bit, and got right down at her level and pet her. she also squealed in delight and kept saying "kitty. meooow!"

for as feisty as she is, she really is a snuggler:)

so while i will cut daley a bit of slack considering she is cutting all 4 eye teeth, i have to be honest, she is wearing me out! she is so headstrong, stubborn and decisive. i know these will all be fantastic attributes when she is older, and of course out of the house so i no longer have to battle them, but it is trying every last bit of patience i have left in me! i'm not certain i have enough sticktoitiveness to keep up with her. that said, i am now perfectly aware of the fact that she in turn gets away with slightly more than jack ever did. on the flip side, jack is much more laid back than her, so it probably is a combination of both.

ironically, daley happens to have the sweetest side to her. she loves to rock, and be held. her new favorite thing to do is to sit and listen to music, which has led to her ability to sing the abc's, twinkle, twinkle, the garden song & march two by two. she actually sings in tune and has the cutest little voice. i'm trying to get it on video, but she refuses to sing when asked and states an affirmative "no!" in response...ahem, see previous paragraph regarding a certain stubborn streak;)
