39 weeks!

i went yesterday for my 39 week appointment--hard to believe i'm less than 1 week away from my due date!? i do think i will still be pregnant this time next week, but you never know...i'm 2cm and 50% effaced, so it really is just a waiting game.

sadly, my right foot looks a bit swollen today...i guess i should be happy i made it this far without any swelling, but i hate it! physically, i am so ready to have this baby, but emotionally i think i'm still in denial that we will soon be a family of four!

33 1/2 weeks--eek!

all i can say is that the more i wish this pregnancy would slow down, the faster it seems to come! hard to believe we're in single digit weeks until baby "t" arrives, but alas we are. i was brave yet again and took a picture...i didn't really take many with jack and i kind of regretted it, so i decided to be more proactive with the pictures this time around:)

32 week appt.

i had my 32 week appointment today. this included a sono to determine growth. all looked good, and baby measured exactly 32 weeks! however, my fundal measurements (a.k.a. size of my big belly) had me at 30 weeks, because of this i will have another growth sono at 36 weeks. i'm just relieved the baby looks good...as for my belly, i have to admit i'm not so upset it isn't humongous. i do have a 2 year old to chase afterall:)

31ish week belly pic

i'm going to be brave and post these pics...mostly because my aunt has requested one numerous times;) i was thinking about photoshopping my rear-end, but whatever, it is what it is?!

growth scan update

just a quick update on my growth scan last week--all looks good! jack came with me and mike met us...the whole time the tech was checking, jack kept saying "we all done checking mommy's belly now!" he doesn't like other people to touch me!?

i still have to get 2 more at 32 & 36 weeks, but i'm confident all will look ok.

on another note, it is scary to believe that i am already 30 weeks...um, we're almost in single digit weeks. ready or not:)

here is a front shot of the little one: you can see the face and the arm coming across the chest

and the foot!
poor baby looks like he/she may have inherited my feet. although in my defense i'm not sure there is a lesser of two evils when it comes to both mine and mike's feet!

27 week appointment

i headed in for my dreaded 1 hour glucose test yesterday, as well as the standard monthly appointment. hearing the baby's heartbeat is always the highlight of the visit:) unfortunately i have to go back in this upcoming wednesday because i'm measuring small again. they'll do a growth ultrasound just to be sure the baby is growing properly. while i'm excited to see the baby, i'm frustrated that this is happening yet again. i'm sure all is fine and the baby is just in a weird position, but it is always unnerving to think that something could be wrong. i'll update again after wednesday, and hope to include some new pictures!!

whoa...

hard to believe i'm 25 weeks already! i'm hoping the 3rd trimester will slow down a bit because we still have a lot of decisions/things to do.

on another note, i've decided that since we're not finding out if this little one is a boy or a girl, i'm just going to call it feisty...seriously, this little one is like an acrobat and actually makes jack look tame (ahem, if you can believe that)! just the other night, mike glanced over at my stomach and was kind of shocked/uncertain of what was going on...i liken it to sparring. i'm pretty sure there were sumersaults and scissor kicks going on in there:)

23 week visit

jack and i headed to the doctor today. i usually go alone, but decided to take him with me this time. he loves to go bye-byes and kept saying "mommy, get ready, go bye-byes" all day!! i kept reminding him that we were going to my dr. and that we would hear the baby's heartbeat. he was so well behaved, but once the nurse came to get us, he immediately got a bit nervous. he was so upset when i had my blood pressure taken, and then again when we went into the room, i think he thinks they might hurt me...he's already my little protector:) my dr. was nice enough to let me stand while she listened to the heartbeat because jack was not having it with me lying down. as soon as we found it, he had this look of both awe and confusion on his face. i know he doesn't really understand, but i love that i can include him in the process.

on another note, all looks good, but because jack was considered not to be of gestational age at birth--his weight was off by a couple ounces--i'll have growth scans at both 32 & 36 weeks. i'm confident all is ok, but will happily go along with the added precautions.

it's a...

surprise?! haha:) we decided not to find out the gender this time. while it is driving both mike and i crazy that everyone at my practice knows the gender, we decided it would be an awesome surprise to wait it out. in the meantime, i have my hunch, but only time will tell;)

it is hard to believe that i am halfway done with this pregnancy, but low and behold i am! in comparison to my pregnancy with jack, this one is by far very different. this time around i was very nauseous, sick & extremely exhausted throughout the first trimester. while i had major food aversions with jack, i don't seem to this time. however, indigestion and reflux were lovely side effects of both! thankfully around 14 weeks i started to feel better and gain my energy back--an absolute must considering i have a very active 22 month old to chase around after!

we had our "big" ultrasound this week, and it was so amazing. i'm not sure if it was because mike and i are experienced now (ha, so we think) or if the baby was just more cooperative, but we could see so many more features than i remember seeing with jack. i've been feeling this baby since about 16 weeks, and if his/her activity is any indication of personality, we're in trouble!? this baby is so active, and is really throwing some punches...literally, we saw he/she punch me numerous times during the ultrasound!

below are two pictures, quality isn't great, but the top one is jack's and the below is baby "t". when we got home i immediately compared the two, and was amazed at the profile similarities, they look almost identical to me...it is so fun to daydream about what this little one is going to look like!
